Celebrating Kindness
The COVID-19 pandemic has created a different reality – one in which many who previously lived a comfortable lifestyle, have now been pushed to the edge of their financial means and beyond. Karim Virani established The Human-Kind Initiative to remind our community of the power of spreading kindness.
HUMAN-KIND.COMHow We’re Giving Back
Our mission is quite simple: spread kindness. Spreading kindness is a simple notion that is often overlooked in our day-to-day lives. Karim Virani established the Human-Kind initiative in order to create a platform to spread kindness in the community and in doing so, inspire others to do the same.
LEARN MORE- 1 in 9 households in BC struggle with food insecurity. Experts agree, these figures are rising
- The percentage of Canadians who have consumed fruits and vegetables at least five times daily is highest in households that fell within the highest income quintile. Healthy food should never be considered a luxury.
- A large proportion of people often overlook food insecurity in vibrant and beautiful communities like the North Shore
The Meal Initiative
One of the ways we have chosen to spread kindness is by providing meals to people experiencing food insecurity on the North Shore. Through a partnership with Earls Kitchen + Bar, each week Human-Kind provides 200+ meals to families and households in need within our community.
Meals are distributed to our community partners including, Harvest Project, Family Services North Shore and The Lookout Housing and Health Society. The demand for healthy and accessible prepared food has dramatically increased throughout the past year. Human-Kind is on a mission to provide support and relief to those experiencing food insecurity in our community.
